Castle Rock estimator site visit: measuring a kitchen before a remodel

How it works

How to Get Multiple Contractor Bids from One Visit

No more calling three contractors over for the same project. We measure and estimate it once, vetted builders bid on that one scope, and we manage the job with you to the final walkthrough.

  • Free for homeowners
  • Your info stays private until you choose
  • Builders vetted and held to our code

Start to finish

Six steps, one partner

You work with one estimator from the first call to the final walkthrough.

  1. Castle Rock whole-home remodeling: an opened-up great room with a new beam and fresh drywall

    Step 1

    Tell us about the project

Answer a few questions about what you want done and when. It takes a couple of minutes, and no contractor sees your contact details.

    You
Describe the project and your timing
    We
Call to set up a site visit
  2. Castle Rock estimator site visit: measuring a kitchen before a remodel

    Step 2

    One site visit

Our estimator comes out once. We measure the space, photograph what's there and note anything that could change the job, like old wiring or water damage.

    You
Walk us through what you want
    We
Measure, photograph and sketch the space
  3. Castle Rock home project estimate: measuring a kitchen wall beside a sketched floor plan

    Step 3

    Your True Bid

We write the scope line by line and draw the plan when the layout changes. You get the True Bid estimate and a budget before any builder sees the job.

    You
Review the scope and ask for changes
    We
Write the scope, drawings and budget
  4. Castle Rock remodel planning: floor plans, material samples and an estimate on a dining table

    Step 4

Builders bid on the same scope

Local Business Alliance builders bid on your written scope without your contact details. Every bid prices the same job, so you compare them line by line.

    You
Sit back. Your phone stays quiet
    We
Collect the bids and line them up
  5. Castle Rock electrical: wiring a new breaker panel beside an EV charger

    Step 5

    You choose your builder

Pick the builder you want. We check their insurance, and their license where the trade requires one, before any work starts. Only then do they get your contact details.

    You
Choose the builder you like best
    We
Verify the builder, then introduce you
  6. Castle Rock remodeling job site: floor protection and a zippered dust wall around a kitchen remodel

    Step 6

We manage it to the finish

We stay on the job with you and the builder, walk it at milestones and do a final walkthrough with you. A builder who botches the work or won't settle a problem is out of DougCO Builds.

    You
    Enjoy the finished project

Questions

How it works, answered

What does DougCO Builds cost me?

Nothing. The builder you hire pays DougCO Builds a fee for the estimating, measuring, drawings and project management. You pay the price in the bid you accept.

Who gets my phone number?

Only the builder you choose. Builders bid on the written scope without your name, phone or email, so you don't get a flood of sales calls.

How long does it take?

It depends on the project and your schedule. We set the site visit for a time that works for you, and you decide when to choose a builder.

What if something goes wrong on the job?

Tell us. We walk the job with you and work it out with the builder. A builder who botches a job or won't settle a problem is removed from DougCO Builds.

Can I change the project after work starts?

Yes. Changes go in writing as a change order that you sign before the extra work starts, and DougCO Builds keeps a copy.

Who pulls the permits?

The builder you hire pulls every permit the job requires. Our code of ethics bars skipping a permit to lower a price.
